​Our Mission Statement

We are proud to say that at Somerville High School, we do not have a robotics team. Instead, we have a team of dreamers, idealists, and innovators of the future. And someday, these dreamers, idealists, and innovators will work to overcome some of the world's greatest challenges. We use FIRST® Robotics Competition as the bridge to our future, inspiring today's generations as well as the ones yet to come. For now, however, it is with the greatest pleasure that we, the GEARHEADS, welcome you to join Team 102 on our journey through the past, present, and future.

Our Team

We are a FIRST® Robotics team from Somerville, New Jersey. We have been building robots in FIRST® for 16 years, and have experienced continued success. We have overcome tough obstacles, such as a lack of funding, and have exceeded far beyond all expectations. We have won many awards (such as the prestigous Engineering Inspiration award), gone to the National Championship five times, and built the fastest FIRST® robot in the world. By focusing on our goals, working together as a team, and practicing Gracious Professionalism, we will continue to succeed, improve ourselves, and promote FIRST® to the best of our ability.
